In addition to providing supplemental funding for some school sponsered events, the PTO also runs several events each year. The major events we run are:
- Plant Sale
- Scholastic Book Fair
- Halloween Hoot
- Frosty’s Workshop
We also organize and run social events for the 5th through 8th graders, and families new to the school.
We obtain our funding through donations and a few fund raising events. We realize that in these tough economic times most families have
less money to donate, and that there are a lot of other organizations looking for your help. Therefore, most of our fund raising events
are structured to provide you a product - often one that you would otherwise purchase. These items have included food, discount tickets
and coupons, gift cards, clothing, and books.
Some of our most lucrative fund raisers have been:
General Mills' Box Top for Education - Parents, families and friends are encouraged to cut out the Box Tops for Education coupons on
specially marked products and send them to the school. The PTO receives 10 cents per coupon.
Gift Cards - With this program, the PTO receives a percentage (4 - 15%) of the face value of gift cards available from a wide variety of business. Last year this was
our largest single fund raiser.
Kid Stuff Coupon Books - Another great fund raiser for us this year. These books contain discount coupons for local and chain-store businesses.
